America vs Liga: Tie that feels like a loss
By: Albert | May 28th, 2008
In Azteca, America received a very tough LDU Quito. The stadium was rocking, the fans supporting, but America could only get a tie. The 1st half was a waste as America couldnt generate chances at goal. The 2nd half changed and America pushed up more, this led to more space for Quito on the attack. LDU got the first goal off a mistake by Memo Ochoa, who reached for an over his head ball and didnt grab it. He could have tried to back track some more, but either way it was a good pass over Memo and on the the head of Bolaños for the goal.
The America goal came from Esqueda off an awesome header from a corner kick.
2 red cards were given, 1 for each team. America will miss dearly Sebastian Dominguez for their next game. Dominguez has been the heart of the America Defense as of late.
America will have to pull out a 1-1 result in Ecuador to go to penalties in the return leg.

I don’t think the tidings are as grim as you put them.
