Atletico Nacional 4 Morelia 2

By: Darius | October 26th, 2006

monarcsMexican soccer had little to cheer about last night. First, Toluca’s Red Devils were roasted 3-1 by San Lorenzo in Buenos Aires, then Morelia’s Monarcas squandered a 2-goal lead and lost to Colombian powerhouse Atlético Nacional at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Rough night at the office, huh boys?

Los Tuzos del Pachuca will try to restore some Mexican pride on the international level when they host Argentine side Lanús on October 31.

    “Vaaaaaamos! Vamos mi veeeerde!
    Que esta nooooocheeee!
    Tenémos que ganaaaaar!”

    …y así fué.

Pachuca is a strong candidate to win the sudamericana. Calero y Mosquera: ídolos verdes!

    what’s up Daniel,

verde for Mexico or for Atletico Mr. Jamarillo?

that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Toluca will bounce back; the return game’s at altitude in Toluca and San Lorenzo won’t be able to keep the pace they did last night.

Pachuca’s nice this year. I used to follow them pretty closely when Bam-bam Hurtado used to hold the defense down.

Calero is a textbook goalie. The exact opposite of this payaso: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFcR_P_wsng

Too bad Colombia squandered Calero’s best years.
