Chivas Cruise Past Red Sharks
By: Darius | November 20th, 2006
Veracruz travelled to Jalisco looking to win by at least two goals, something they hadn’t done against Chivas in over 10 years. What they got was a drubbing.
Rafael Medina put Chivas up in the 12th minute and the boys from Guadalajara never looked back, trouncing Los Tiburones 4-0 and punching their ticket to the Mexican Championship quarterfinals.
Guadalajara squeaked past Veracruz three days earlier 2-1 and had to avoid losing by more than a goal to advance to the next stage.
With the win, Chivas plays top-seeded Cruz Azul next Sunday.
