Chivas Cruise Past Red Sharks

By: Darius | November 20th, 2006

Chivas Veracruz Veracruz travelled to Jalisco looking to win by at least two goals, something they hadn’t done against Chivas in over 10 years. What they got was a drubbing.

Rafael Medina put Chivas up in the 12th minute and the boys from Guadalajara never looked back, trouncing Los Tiburones 4-0 and punching their ticket to the Mexican Championship quarterfinals.

Guadalajara squeaked past Veracruz three days earlier 2-1 and had to avoid losing by more than a goal to advance to the next stage.

With the win, Chivas plays top-seeded Cruz Azul next Sunday.
