Holy Perfection…Santos Wins 2-1

By: mirna | August 29th, 2007

m_michel_412.jpgThe Apertura 2007 continues to be a great season for Santos. They certainly did not disappoint today with an exciting win over Chivas at their home in Torreon and keeping their perfect season intact. Oswaldo Sanchez is probably the happiest man in Torreon right now, as his current team beat his former team, 2-1. While Chivas dominated the first minutes of the game, Santos did not give up even when Chivas’ Sergio Santana scored first at the 17th minute.

Santos kept fighting until the equalizer came at the 36th minute through a Christian Benitez goal. Benitez also assisted on the winning goal at the 84th minute when the Argentinean Matias Vuoso scored with an open net waiting for him. I didn’t get a chance to watch the game in its entirety but Benitez’ goal was a true beauty. I’ll bring you the goal as soon as I find it.

At this point, the question is, who will stop Santos? We’ll have to wait and see.
