Let’s Send our Prayers and Good Wishes to Antonio Puerta

sevilla2.jpg Although this comment is not in any way related to Mexico’s league, I thought it would important to share this with you.

This weekend, Sevilla’s Antonio Puerta collapsed, right on the pitch, during Sevilla’s game against Getafe. Antonio is in serious condition in a hospital in Sevilla while doctors try to figure out what happened to him. What we know is that he did suffer at least two heart attacks and stopped breathing. He is now on a respirator and sedated.

As a football/soccer community, we join Sevilla and its fans in wishing Antonio a speedy recovery and we send our best wishes and prayers to him and his family. Please send your thoughts and messages to puertaestamoscontigo@sevillafc.es.

Let’s remember how precious life is and enjoy every minute of it.

I was watching that match this saturday. Its such a terrible thing to see this happen to someone so young and vital. Lets hope that he is able to make a full recovery and able to live a normal life, let alone play football again.

    Brendan -

I share your thoughts. It was such a terrible thing to happen to such a young person. I’ve been keep tabs on Television Espanola and the last they said was that Antonio is in critical condition. He is also expecting his first child. It is a heartbreaking story. I hope he can recover soon.

Today is a very sad day for all of us who love football. I feel for all the Sevilla fans and especially for Antonio’s family and his expectant wife. What a tragedy this is.
