This Week’s Recap
By: mirna | September 7th, 2007
I had to be away a few days this week and didn’t get a chance to update you on some of the news that made headlines this week. Here’s a quick recap of what has been happening at the Apertura tournament and the national team:
• Rafael Marquez will make the trip to Boston and join the Men’s team for their Sept. 12th game against Brazil. I am not going to read too much into it…if he wanted to play or not. Who knows really what is going on but I am glad to see Marquez there…his leadership is needed for the younger players on the team.
• FINALLY!! Tigres were able to win a game. Don’t take me wrong, I am a fan of Tigres. I like Kikin and El Loco Abreu but it was about time that they won a game.
• Unfortunately, the Tigres vs. Pachuca game also brought some bad news for Pachuca’s goalie Miguel Calero. He will be out, pretty much for the rest of the season. Calero has a problem with his left shoulder.
• Menotti’s first game as manager of Tecos didn’t go too well. Jornada 6 didn’t bring the win that everyone wanted for Tecos…instead, it was just another medriocre game. Time will tell.
