toluca san lorenzoToluca swept aside San Lorenzo 2-0 Wednesday night, overturning a 3-1 aggregate deficit and booking their place in the Copa Sudamericana semifinals.

Argentine goal-keeper Agustin Orion deflected a cross directly at Toluca forward Carlos Morales, who promptly put it into the net.

Paulo da Silva sealed the deal for the Red Devils in the 68th minute with a heroic header that sent the 20,000+ fans in attendance into a frenzy, and catipulting his team into the next round.

After the game, Devils’ coach Americo Gallego confirmed he was one of two candidates in the running for head coach of the Mexican National Team.

    That was a really good game. Next week’s match against Colo-Colo from Chile ought to be a good one to watch as well. I still prefer Jose Pekerman over Americo Gallego, though.

    Gotta side with you, lee. Pek’s got the stronger credentials. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be Hugo Sanchez though.
