Maracanazo! What a night for America
By: Albert |All hope was lost. Ruben Omar Romano was fired after the loss in Azteca to Flamengo. The new Coach, Antonio Luna, said that it would be a dream/fantasy to think they would pass against Flamengo in the 2nd leg in Brazil. No one believed America could do it. I laughed at the chances they had. […]
America has new Interim Coach
By: Albert |Juan Antonio Luna takes over as Interim Coach for the dismal Club America. The interesting quote coming from Luna is that he believes that America would be dreaming to think that they could beat Flamengo in Brazil.
Atleast he is in touch with reality, but its got to be a bummer to have to coach a […]
America goes down, Romano steps aside.
By: Albert |For real this time. After a disgraceful Mexican League stint as Head Coach, all his hopes hung on the Copa Libertadores. Now America loses 4-2 to Flamengo in Azteca, without an impressive attendance. It just keeps getting worse and the only thing that can fix it is a total cleaning of players, directives and coaching.
Romano […]

Would the Champions League stand for this?
By: Chris |Sure, the Copa Libertadores ISN’T the Champions League. But it is still the 2nd biggest club tournament in the world, so you’d think that we wouldn’t have these kind of problems.
Problems? What problems, might you ask?
It seems that Wednesday’s match between Necaxa and Nacional of Uruguay is going to be moved. Necaxa’s Victoria Stadium is […]
Mid-week action: A mixed bag of results
By: Chris |We’ll start out with the domestic league, as the playoffs got underway on Wednesday with the two play-in ties playing their first legs.
In Torreón, Santos was shocked at home by San Luis on a 57th minute goal by former Mexican international Braulio Luna. Santos couldn’t continue their momentum after saving themselves from relegation on Sunday, […]
