CONCACAF Micky Mouse Cup Update
By: Albert | March 27th, 2008
I’m sorry. CONCACAF Champions Cup has been underway. As far as Mexican League is concerned, the two Mexican competitors this year are Pachuca and Atlante.
Atlante bowed out already to Saprissa after a disappointing but entertaining loss in Costa Rica. I say entertaining in that it turned physical, there were fouls, arguments and worst of all flying projectiles. Saprissa fans threw objects into the field, hitting players and coaches. One Atlante Team Trainer was ejected from the game and received a barrage of objects from opposing fans. You can even read here what CONCACAF thought about the event. Saprissa was slapped with 15,000 USD fine and has to pinky promise to man-up on security before they Houston Dyname show up in Costa Rica. Atlante got a few thousand in fines also.
Pachuca, the other Mexican team is still alive. They play DC United next. The same DC United who was eliminated by Pumas, then by Chivas in the past 2 tournaments. They have not had the luck as of yet in recent Tournaments against Mexican teams, although last years match up with Chivas seemed quite close. This year Pachuca isnt tearing it up, so to speak, in the domestic league, but hope to have some key defensive players as well as speedy, Damian Alvarez, back healthy for the match versus DC United.

This cup is so boring to watch but I still get excited if any Mexican team wins it. Hey how about a blog about who is fit to take Hugo Sanchez position as DT if he is kicked out, Ive been looking for a blog about this everywere. It would be very interesting to see the possibilities.

Wow! Mexican blogs here are growing up like grass! I wish we could do the same for Colombian blogs.
