Mexican NT Call up for Ghana game.
By: Albert | March 21st, 2008Hugo announced the list of players for this game next week. A game that could decide his fate. A game that is without Chivas, America and Atlas players as they have Copa Libertadores competition.
So don’t go crazy about seeing Oswaldo in the lineup. You can go crazy about seeing Moises Muños! I have no idea why he is there or why there are 3 keepers in this list.
In the Defense we have a return player in Aaron Galindo, who hasn’t played with the National Team since getting the boot in the Confederations Cup for doping.
Nothing else new, except for Guille “Guishe” Franco, who is doing good in Villareal, but Hugo said long ago was against Naturalized players being on the NT. Oh well, anything for a win. Guille is needed, however, with the asterisk next to Giovanni, Carlos Vela and Guardado because of injury, they may not end up playing. I hope they recover and are able to participate. This full lineup could be very interesting and very effective.

I don’t think Muños or Corona should ever get a chance again.. they’re certified crazy. Corona even burned/cut his hand because they wouldn’t transfer him from Tecos to Tigres.
Other than that it looks like a kinda experienced line-up, which is what he needs to try to “save” his job.

Is there no club vs country debate in Mexican football? Why are the Libertadores-involved club players not going to get called up for the NT?

Libertadores is esteemed more than a “meaningless” friendly. This has become customary to let the club have their players so Mexico can do good in the South American tourneys.

Glad to see Galindo back. From what I’ve seen, he’s been doing great at Eintracht

Even if they do win this friendly I don’t think it substitutes the horrible Gold Cup playing skill, losing to the U.S. 2-3 times and Olympic failure for Hugo…he’s got 2 go
